Applying Procurement Risk and Contract Management in Your Role (Optional - Submit on APTEM)
You are required to complete two short practical tasks that demonstrate how you apply the Skills and Behaviours of a Project Controls Professional to procurement risk and contract management. Your answers should be based on your actual work experience, current project, or a recent example.
Include at least two different types of evidence (for example: meeting notes, risk registers, emails, reports, or signed checklists) to support your answers. These should be attached or referenced as part of your submission.
Briefly describe a time when you helped identify or reduce risks before a contract was signed (e.g., completing a risk register, helping choose the right supplier, or reviewing contract terms).
What steps did you take? Who did you work with? How did your actions help avoid problems later?
Attach evidence (such as an extract from a risk register, a meeting note, or an email summary).
Briefly describe a time when you helped monitor a supplier’s performance, managed a change to the contract, or dealt with a problem after the contract was signed (e.g., holding a review meeting, recording a change, or responding to an issue).
What was your role? What actions did you take? How did you make sure the contract was followed and risks were controlled?
Attach evidence (such as meeting minutes, a change control form, or an email exchange).
Risk registers or risk logs
Meeting notes or minutes
Emails with suppliers or colleagues
Extracts from contract documents
Change control forms
Progress or performance reports
Signed checklists or approvals
Keep your answers brief (no more than 300 words per task).
Make sure your evidence is clearly labelled and referenced.
For each task, state which Skills and Behaviours you believe you have demonstrated (e.g., risk management, collaboration, commercial awareness, integrity, pre-emptive action).
Your assessor will use your tasks and evidence to map your performance against the EPA KSBs.
This assignment helps you show, with real examples, how you put project control skills and behaviours into practice.
