Welcome to PMP Module 1. Work through the weekly reading, video explanations, knowledge checks, practical activities and class learning in the order shown.
Only 9–10 hours of learning are required each week, including class attendance. The planned required route totals 9 hours 30 minutes per teaching week. Completing this allocation is vital and sufficient for the planned learning.
Additional study is welcome and may improve your confidence and performance, but it is optional and is not expected. Record additional learning separately as extra credit for your own development. It does not increase the required hours or automatically award qualification marks.
Each component states its planned time and whether it is required or optional. Reading estimates use text length; media estimates use actual running time. Allow the stated practice and reflection time. Available Alice and George audiobooks follow their matching reading and are labelled when they cover only part of it.
Use the ten-question required knowledge check each week. Larger question banks and extended resources are optional. Knowledge checks are untimed, with a 70% pass mark, feedback and unlimited attempts.
KSB links identify learning opportunities; completing a resource does not by itself establish occupational competence.
Progress indicators may include optional resources. You do not need to complete every optional resource to meet the required weekly learning plan.
The current assessment guidance asks for three TARP submissions, or an agreed ALWI replacement for one TARP. The assignment briefs are TARP 01 (M01-TARP-01-BRIEF), TARP 02 (M01-TARP-02-BRIEF) and TARP 03 (M01-TARP-03-BRIEF). Review the relevant brief and guidance within the two hours of required assignment work already included in your weekly study plan; this does not add extra weekly hours.
An optional label on a supporting brief or recording refers to that separate resource activity. It does not make an agreed assessed submission optional. Follow the current written assessment guidance and your tutor’s agreed assignment route.
